Photonique Ultra-rapide

Ultrafast Photonics

Description: The objective of this course is to introduce engineering students to the fundamental concepts and techniques of ultrafast optics, particularly aspects related to the generation of ultrashort pulses (from nanoseconds to attoseconds), the propagation of these pulses, the associated nonlinear effects, and their applications in high-precision metrology, nonlinear optics, and optical communications.

Learning outcomes: AA1: Master the theoretical foundations of ultrashort pulse generation and manipulation – AA2: Understand the application areas of ultrafast optics – AA3: Be able to comprehend and synthesize a recent scientific article in the field of ultrafast optics – AA4: Solve an ultrafast optics problem based on a proposed physical model
